And in honor of my lovely girl, I've decided to make myself more accountable to my health and some of my more loved hobbies. This week, I have reverted back (albeit minorly) to an old diet I did in college as well as a new workout routine. I am actually trying out workouts I pin instead of simply doing them in my head! And let me just say, when you let yourself go like I have, even the simple "easy for beginners" workouts can be not so easy. Ugh x10.
While I haven't lost any weight yet, I feel less heavy. Lunches consist of salmon or chicken and a large portion of veggies and I've been trying to keep up with my mid morning snack of fruit and a protein shake and a mid afternoon protein bar. I'm not a big morning person so breakfast is my least favorite meal and I generally just have fruit or oatmeal. Dinners are a bit more tricky. My nephew is a Type 1 diabetic so while I'm limiting my carbs, sometimes it's hard to have the meal I want to have because he has to meet a minimum quota for carb intake. Luckily, there are some great carb counters that are quite yummy; couscous and wild rice, in particular.
So. With this new weight loss goal in mind, I am dedicating Wednesdays to Weight Loss Wednesdays. I will share a healthy recipe, a few pointers for those looking to shed some weight or simply be healthy, and of course update you on my current goals and progress. Should be fun! Probably more so for you than me. But accountability is one of the most important aspects when trying to lose weight or change your life style eating/working out habits and blogging my progress for all the world to see is a great way for me to keep up with all this because it also makes me accountable to you, my readers.
Go forth, dear followers, and take a step to get back to something you love! Find a way to make yourself accountable to it that will keep you motivated and don't let everyday life impact you too much. Choose specific days and make a date with yourself to get it done, whatever it is. No one likes to be stood up!
